Halloween Night

Another post that should have been done long, long ago....So Sister Barnett, my last Young Women's President came to the baby shower thinking that I had already had the baby. She is an x-ray tech at the hospital in Greeley. She gave me a onesie with a skeleton on it for a Halloween costume. I didn't have anything to wear for Halloween to work so I wore a black shirt and safety-pinned the onesie to my belly. I thought it was pretty clever. You can't tell anything through the picture but the skeleton...but it glows in the dark too. Here Sister Barnett thought that she screwed up buying the baby a costume, but it turned out pretty good. Then there is Mark. He spent Halloween upstairs in his recliner with the t.v. and a blanket over the window hiding from the trick-or-treaters.
Baby Excitement

This is a post that should have been done a like a week and a half ago....but nonetheless...
I was doing some serious cleaning and was really tired before I went to work. While at work it seemed that every grumpy person that has at&t service was being routed straight to my line. I stopped to get a Hot and Ready pizza because I really wasn't in the mood to make anything for lunch, and dropped it in the driveway. It was still salvagable so we ate it anyway, because I didn't want to make anything for lunch. Really, I didn't want to make anything for lunch. Get the point? It was just one of those days. So I called in to work and used some of my much needed vacation time to stay home. Apparantly I was really grumpy because Mark told me that I should go back to work... a little jokingly but mostly serious. So I went upstairs and rested for a little while and then came back down mostly happy. 9:00 at night there is a very serious knock on the door. Mark goes to answer it and, surprise! It's our stroller/carseat combo! I was shocked and crying, Mark was excited. It was too cute. I was just content looking at it, but Mark wanted to put it together just like he did our pack and play the week earlier. I can tell he is starting to get more excited as the pregnancy goes on. I guess it is just becoming more real. He is starting to ask me on a regular basis now if I can feel him kicking. Really cute. After the stroller and carseat were assembled he wanted to rearrange the bedroom to make room for the crib and recliner. So that is just what we did the next morning. Bring on the baby!

Baby Shower

We went up to Greeley this weekend for a fun packed trip. On the way up I made Mark stop at multiple ARC's along the way. He enjoyed this shopping because he got to wait in the car for me to run in and buy what I needed. I spent less than $30 and found a really good pair of jeans and 5 tops! WooHoo! We made it up to Justin and Sarah's had dinner and hung out with Mom and Dad a while. The next day we had my baby shower at Mandy's house and it was so fun to see everybody. After the shower we went to Denver to celebrate Mike's birthday at Cici's Pizza and MadCap. MadCap was really fun. It was an improv comedy theatre. I had never been to one before and really enjoyed it. By this time I was so exhausted that I couldn't even walk through Walmart to get Dog food. I slept all the way home and until 10:00 the next morning. Big day!
Mountains...cont.
I forgot to add one thing about the mountains. When we were on our way up I was leaning back in my chair when I heard a thump, thump, thump go underneath the car. I asked Mark what it was and his only response was, "You don't want to know." My thoughts went to a bunny because it would be sad. I finally got him to admit what it was...a skunk. We went 5 minutes without any scent when mark said, "I think we got away with it!" Literally within seconds the stench got so bad. Granted I do have a pretty good nose now, but ugh. We tried taking the car to a car wash the next day with no improvement. the smell came and went on the way home. But for anybody that gets their undercarriage sprayed by a skunk it takes over 2 weeks for the smell to go away. Air fresheners don't work because the skunk smell trumps. No solution but time....nice.

Ahh Mountains...

We just got back from a weekend in the mountains. We headed up there after I got off of work on Friday night. It makes for a really late night, but it makes the trip more worth it if we get at least a full day in. Mark's family needed some help chopping up some wood for the winter. It was a lot of work (for some...ok everybody but me) but it seemed that we got a lot done. I was going to take a picture of my contribution, but the little log got burried under the more impressive ones. Mark worked so hard he was a natural logger.

Doctor! Doctor!

We had the monthly doctors appointment this morning. Found out that everything is just fine. They measured me, weighed me, and checked for a heartbeat. I got to grill him with all the questions I had. Here is a picture of my belly at about 25 weeks. And by the way those are the clothes that I found at the ARC for super cheap! Love a good deal.
We are going to do an ultrasound when the due date comes closer to look for the retinol blastoma and see if we can find anything. I talked to the specialist in Denver. They say that we need to go see them winthin the week after the baby is born. They will put the little man to sleep and do a thorough exam to be sure nothing is there. I am very excited that we have a plan. Next appointment: 11/10

Sucked In!
I would like to dedicate this blog to Amy. She said she wanted to see my belly and my baby shower. So there will be at least three postings that you can count on, after that we will just see if I get addicted or not. But here it goes!
